Every year, Dr. Zehr and myself attend a seminar for the Activator Methods chiropractic technique.  Doing so every year keeps us current in the profession in general but also allows us to maintain our “Advanced Proficiency Rating” in the technique.  We brush up on things we have already learned but also learn about new techniques for relieving patients with certain conditions.  For instance, this time around we focused on lower extremity problems (hips, knees, ankles).

It is no secret that there are literally over a dozen chiropractors in the greater Muskegon area that promote the Activator in their offices.  However, we never see them at the seminars.   They are not listed in the directory or on the website.  They are not proficiency rated in the technique.

Now, I could buy a really nice set of tools, but that does not make me a contractor.  Owning a shiny new pair of clippers does not make me a hairstylist.  The Activator instrument has a specific protocol for its use in relieving spinal dysfunction.  Furthermore, if someone is using an Activator without the appropriate training, the patient is NOT benefitting from the same service we provide.
